Chapter 1: Preexisting Conditions

America already had systemic inequalities – among them racism, ableism and income inequities. These problems were exacerbated when the pandemic hit.

Chapter 2: Infection

Job loss. Food insecurity. Unstable housing. As the country first started to develop symptoms of the pandemic Americans were thrown into an economic downturn.

Chapter 3: Critical Condition

Months into the pandemic, the U.S. government authorized solutions like stimulus checks and congressional funding. For some it wasn’t enough.

Chapter 4: Long Haul Symptoms

COVID-19 became the new reality for Americans. Now, the attention turns to creating solutions for the present and the future.
